Compared to the paladin and warlock 60 mount quests in terms of effort involved, the druid’s epic flight form quest series is rather easy.
For starters, there will always be the necessary herbs on auction for the quest that requires them, and everything else you need is in Moonglade or Outland. Compared the travel pallies and warlocks have to do, travel for the druid epic flight quest is relatively little.
Also, doing heroic Sethekk Halls at 80 will be like running reg Ramparts at 70. Getting to Outland from Azeroth, assuming no mage ports or warlock summons, is fast and easy compared to getting to Feralas or Eastern Plaguelands. There are a lot of quests involved in the druid epic flight form quest, but they’re all pretty easy and all of them except heroic Sethekk and perhaps one of the statue fights (depending on spec) are easily soloable. (As feral spec, I had to call in a friend to heal me for the avatar that was weak to spells).
For a level 80 group (even to include one 70 druid) to clear to Anzu’s room and do the fight would be fast and easy.
Lastly, for at least the first few months of WotLK, most of the people playing in the 70-80 range are going to be people who already have their key for heroic Sethekk. There are always going to be people questing out of Terrokar/Bone Wastes whenever they level a new toon. Outland dungeons (compared to many/all of their Azeroth counterparts) are fast, tidy runs with a decent group, and the loot isn’t going to become fully obsolete with WotLK People are still going to be running Outland dungeons for xp/quests and gear as they level new toons, which means that if they didn’t hit Honored from the quests in Bone Wastes and Terrokar, they’re likely to hit it with an extra SL run or two. Heroic keys for Auchindoun dungeons aren’t exactly going to be in short supply.
The main thing is that the key to get anything group oriented done is to have a decent guild or a decent group of friends in the game. The anti-social types or the types of folks who insist on keeping themselves in crappy guilds will always have trouble with group content for personal rewards. -In Soviet Eorzea, Beehive Chips sell YOU!!
My ZAM Journal featuring my 2010 Custom PC Build BlogThat mount dropped when I killed anzu for my epic flight form quest and the lazy hunter in my group stole it, by needing when everyone else greeded…I tried using the raven mount drop to get a group together for the last month and wasn’t having any success at all. Finally yesterday a group formed up and we cleared it.. I only paid for my training over a month ago yet in fairness I should add I haven’t been able to run it those days it was the daily heroic either.
I still want that mount though…

Edited, Aug 26th 2008 9:52pm by kawainui..by mount I’m sure you mean Swift Flight Form. :>
While yes, we will join Warlocks and Paladins in that we will need a class specific form of travel from an instance. We have one strike against us, being that it’s heroic. In our favor is all the people starting Death Knights at 55 and will be playing through Outlands content at least for a good solid amount of time after the expansion hits.
Our saving grace? Reins of the Raven Lord, a chance at a rare mount from a mob only we can spawn! (and continue to spawn after we finish our swift flight form questline.) With mounts becoming spells and taking up no inventory space in WotLK; mount collecting is becoming even more popular.

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010beta druid talents push 8926
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010here are the latest druid talents from the most recent beta push. significant changes are:
berserk nerfed/buffed. 3 minute cooldown now (big buff, down from 5 mins) but only removes and immunes fear effects, not everything.
gale winds in balance nerfed to 15/30 increased damage instead of 25/50 (i guess hurricane was REALLY pwning for aoe or something).
gift of the earthmother in resto: changed/nerfed from a .5 (at 5 points) reduction in the GCD for rejuv and lifebloom to a 10 (with 5 points) reduction in the GCD for the same spells. the HT/nourish effect was unchanged. effectively, this means a .15s reduction on the GCD for lifebloom and rejuv, vs a .5s reduction. its still a decent talent, but by no means as good as it was.
subtlety rebuffed – the dispel resistance modifier now affects all druid spells again, instead of just HoT spells.
replenish nerfed a bit. chance remains the same, but quantity restored was reduced across the board (the biggest being a 1 reduction in mana restored, down from 2).
thats about all i can find currently. nothing really huge, altho pvp ferals are rightly pissed at the berserk change. big buff for pve druids tho.-Quote:The thing about me is that apparently it’s very hard to tell when I’m drunk. Druid Neck Choice?
Monday, March 29th, 2010I am exalted with SSO, and I still use a Necklace of the deep, socketed with Shifting Tanzanites.
I don’t like the huge drop in dodge I get whenever I equip anything else.

Healing and the seeming lack of great gear
Saturday, March 27th, 2010Hello! I’m Bearbum from The Scryers server. I’m currently spec’d to resto as you may have seen in my other recent threads. Take a moment to check my gear and get ready to ridicule it. I’ll give you a minute.
Ok now that you’re ready and have half of your post written about why I didn’t get the uber piece of armor that will completely decimate my gear list go ahead and read the rest below.
I’ve looked throughout all of the gear in 5 man dungeons (guild is not ready for Naxx and won’t go on days I can play, suckage). I have not yet picked up my emblem gear but I do know about it. I’ve saved 150+ emblems for when I decide for certain my spec. From this we can assume I’ll pick up the and probably a trinket.
My stats in case you don’t want to look:
Unbuffed (no mark, no tree, no thorns, no or even essence of wintergrasp)
13,877 health
15,246 mp
1543 healing (around 1700 in tree form)
321 / 829 mp5
A shaman in my guild said they self buffed they were at:
15k health
20k mp
1900 healing
400 mp5 (while casting)
and they had 2 epic items, same weapon and I think the other was the emblem neck.
It’s changed a bit now but you get the picture. Must be some darn good buffs.
What am I missing? I’m after the head piece from heroic Drak as well as the ring but other than that I think I’m pretty much done with healing gear short of emblems and raiding. I haven’t had many issues in healing heroic 5 mans other than DPS being poor and fights taking too long (more so with AoE damage in things like Loken and the blue dragon boss in Pinnacle).
The biggest problem I have had thus far in gearing up has been trying to avoid several annoyingly nearly useless stats : crit, hit, haste and to an extent mp/5 and concentrating on spirit, int, spellpower and enough stamina to stay alive. I have no problems wearing cloth (and wear 4 pieces currently) so by all means suggest those I may have missed if they are better. If I haven’t missed much and druid stats are just way short of what other classes may have then please say so as well. I thought I was very well geared from heroics but now I’m starting to doubt myself as I don’t see getting anywhere near the stats that were listed by the Shaman.
Thoughts?

Help me be a better moonchicken
Thursday, March 25th, 2010Ok. This might go pretty in depth by fewyn I trust you know what I’m talking about here.
Some slight mix/max things here to look at.
Take one point from Nature’s Reach and put it into Improved Insect Swarm. Reasoning behind doing this is as follows. Range is HARDLY an issue in TOC right now, its rather confined and nothing should be ranged out from you except for the following. Icehowl crashes, faction champs if you’re cycloning (you’ve got gale winds for that 4 yards though), anub if you for some reason get caught in the back away from him when he emerges.
Looking at the switch you’ll net the following.
1 more damage on your wrath. During eclipse with your 2 piece t8 you should be critting wrath from 7000 upwards to 12,000. You’re pushing another 70 – 120 damage per wrath, minimal yes, but according to your parse on Jarraxus you did 468,927 wrath damage X 0.01 = 4689.27 damage. It’s a dps increase, minimal, but its a dps increase.
You’ve also got to look at your 1 increase in starfire crit chance. This like before, seems minimal but it really helps out in those rare chances that the rng fails miserably on the end of your lunar eclipse to push you into solar. Sometimes 1 means the difference between an extra cast and less uptime, or one less cast and more uptime.
Ok, now to move into your rotation.
I’ve found the best possible way to start the fight is this.
Target the boss, most bosses in toc have some form of start up. Figure out the time via dbm that the initial aggro starts. Queue up Force of Nature, about one gcd before the boss starts drop them right next to the boss. During that gcd start spamming FF. Reason I always go FF first is that you’re not hit capped w/o it being up first. This means if you lead with IS/MF you could possibly miss and waste a gcd.
My general opening is this.
Treants > FF > MF > IS > Starfall
I get starfall up immediately to start procing my Nature’s Grace to get my wrath casts going. Usually its one to three wrath casts and I’m up into Lunar already.
When it comes to my dots, the rule of not refreshing in eclipse is gone. Dots push up entirely way too much of your damage and having them up at all times means more buffs to the crit/damage of starfire and wrath. So do not hesitate to refresh your dots in the middle of eclipse. Just DO NOT refresh when they still have time left over. Clipping dots is bad and will result in a dps loss. I always let them fall off my target and then immediately reapply, just keep a watchful eye on squawkandawe.
Now that I said squawkandawe, I’m like 100 sure you have the addon but anyway I’m gonna say it for anyone who might be looking. Get squawkandawe and also wiseeclipse. I’m also sure you have this addon as well but I’m gonna explain both.
SQ&A – Tracks eclipse, MF, IS, FF, Innervate, Treants and your Trinkets.
Wiseeclipse – If you are casting starfire at the end of your lunar eclipse and you’re SF cast time is more than the time left on the eclipse proc it will automatically cancel the eclipse buff allowing you to enter into solar faster.
You need higher uptime on your dots. Refreshing during eclipse will help this problem entirely.
Going back to the jarraxus parse your uptime for IS and MF is as follows seconds in uptime/length of fight in seconds.
MF – 198/233 – 84 uptime
IS – 171/233 – 73 uptime
MF is good, but could be improved, IS needs to be up over 80. Ideally 90 uptime on your dots is what you shoot for.
Get your tailoring up, lightweave proc will only help. Honestly that should be your first and most important thing to do.
You definately need more gear with crit on it. Don’t be afraid to hover around 400 haste or a little below it. I try to keep it a rule when I’m min/maxing Arex that 400 haste is my goal, as near to it as possible w/o absolutely nerfing my other stats.
I’m not sure about your situational awareness but one thing I did with my placement of squawkandawe to increase my situational awareness and make it easier to not be scanning your screen is to place squawkandawe next to your character. Much like you see here.
As far as I can see you’re entirely on the right track. Perhaps just go hit some practice dummies and run through about 10 mana bars practicing your rotations. I’ve always been a firm believer in the fact that the more you improve your muscle memory in your hands to easier it will be transitioning into raids when you’ve got to move and remember to hit buttons.
I think I covered the most of what I can cover. I hope what I tossed up here will help you out.-
Arex ~ Druid ? Ciant ~ Paladin
Yes, I could use some help. I’ve noticed recently my dps doesn’t feel up to par with other critchickens in similiar gear so I come to ask you for some help.
Read Me: Druid 202
Wednesday, March 24th, 2010So you decided to roll a druid. Good choice. We are one of if not the most versatile class in all of WoW.
You can with a simple change of talents be a tank, melee DPS, ranged DPS or a healer. Can I do it all at once you ask. Sadly no. While some overlap can be done, especially with regards to melee, you must pick a role or two if you buy dual spec.
But Mr. DruidSock how do I pick a role and what are all of these forms I can turn into?
Well I am glad you asked. This here is a little guide for new druids or people curious about druids in general. Based on highRfrequenC’s old druid guide and updated for Wrath. I will try and cover all aspects of druid life. From leveling to gearing up for raids and even professions and talents.
A Table of Contents will follow shortly but first I would like to welcome you into the world of druid. I think you’ll like it you want people to fear animals on their face, getting shot with lasers or waving tree arms to heal people.
If I forget anything or make a some mistakes please Reply to the thread and let me know. This thread should have the answers to most any basic questions and some more advanced ones as well. Always check this sticky first but if the answers aren’t hear either post in this thread or make a new post and someone will likely help you out.

quick pet skill question
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010When you tame a pet that has a specific attack you want to learn, you have to use the pet until you learn it IE: You have learned the pet ability Dive
(Rank 3). Keep using the pet and make sure he uses that attack as much as possible (Turning off all other attacks except for growl) and basically having you pet spam them till you learn it. It doesnt show up in your Combat Log, it shows up in your General Chat as you have learned it. If you think you have missed it go to your spellbook and check the Beast Training, scroll to the bottom were it shows skills already known (colored grey) and see the skill you are trying to learn has showed up. If not keep it up until you learn it.

I have heard people spending hours without learning a skill, but my guess is they’re doing something wrong.
3. Scroll up in the combat log, or check the pet training (?, don’t remember what it’s called) menu.-Jesus built my hotrod2. How long does it take? 15 minutes, an hour of fighting?
3. If I miss the message, is there any way to check if I learned the skill?
/McAber1. I don’t think you have to stand right next to it, just use the pet in the normal way.
2. It can be on auto. However, if you spam the skill you learn it faster. Turn off everything else to save focus. For some skills, like dash and dive, you don’t even have to be in combat.
3. You do get a message. (It’s easy to miss though.)-Jesus built my hotrodi checked the faq at the top but it didn’t really go into it. When you tame a pet to learn a skill, how exactly do you lean the skill from the pet? do you have to stand right next to it when its fighting? can it be on auto or do you have to push the button? and finally do you get a message when you learn it?
Deciding which beloved pet to give up sniff
Saturday, March 20th, 2010I want a green warp stalker; thus begins my dilemma.
I knew better than to do it, but as I leveled up I ended up with three pets on Cashara. She is now my first character into Outland. When she reaches level 67 I?? really like to tame a green warp stalker. But that means giving up one of her current pets.
1) Tallstrider ??Her first pet was her pink tallstrider. This is one pet she will be keeping. It was the inspiration for turning her from a bank alt to a real character. And as I leveled up I met another hunter with a pink bird. We leveled together to 60 with our pair of pink birds.
2) Wolf ??I really like the wolf, not worg, graphic and animation. In particular I like the black wolves. I tamed Snarler when Cashara was level 42. It took me a couple of days to find him. And with his ability to go into stealth mode it made taming him tricky till I used hunter?? mark. He became a very good pet.
3) Spider ??On a lark I tamed a level 25 black widow spider, the highest level in game unless there are some in Outland, when Cashara was level 55. I found I loved having her as a pet. She?? both amazing looking and unusual to see at level 60. And I put in a heck of a lot of effort to level her from such a low level.
A blue post has stated that Blizzard does not intend to give us more stable slots. So I will either have to give up a pet or not tame a warp stalker. I have two other level 60 hunters, each with an empty stable slot. But it will be some time before I level them up. Cashara is in a guild that I want to get to know and I?? like to play just one character for a while so that they can get to know me. So I?? back to Cashara and whether or not to abandon one of her pets.
Is anyone else facing this dilemma? Or am I the only one silly enough to both tame three pets before the expansion and become emotionally attached to them?
-”Too many requests! Slow down!” Yes, thank you, I should take the time to savor the experience of purchasing 37 chicken eggs.

Ok, Thoughts appreciated
Friday, March 19th, 2010Putting one point in Imp AotH is pointless. A 3 haste increase isn’t worth it. I would take the points out of that and the kill command tallent and probably out of concussive barrage too.
Hell, what I would do is spec like I am. It’s in the sig. The spec I have is for maximum damage output with still having a strong pet for offtanking in instances.
Right now, self buffed(AotH and TSA), my RAP is 1860. With an AP pot and a ravager dog, I can have almost 2k.

Here is my spec, some people have said it’s f-ed up, some have said it’s interesting, but they havn’t said why.
Now lemme ask you, what would you do different, if anything, and why would you do it? Does this seem like a viable spec to you, again why. Just curious on your thoughts and wisdom as that is what forums are for. If you have questions about why I did something, I will try to explain them best as I can.-Wheels
