A new online survey released today will answer questions about the current state of Online Games (Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Games) and perhaps shed some light on the future of this relatively new and rapidly growing form of interactive entertainment. This link to the site, http://www.gamesurvey.com, is currently being sent to game and media sites throughout North America. Game development studios will use the results to craft new and enhanced online content for both computer and console game platforms.
Industry experts have predicted that revenues from Online Games will grow at an average rate of 100 percent per year between now and 2005 and that as many as 100-million people worldwide will be accessing Online Games by the middle of this decade.
The survey is managed by Lewis, Fenley & Associates. It asks an array of questions that will help game designers better understand online gamers and what those players like and dislike about Online Games. Included are questions about game play styles, purchase decisions, game platforms, frequency and duration of play sessions, and Internet connection speed.
Survey participation is open to anyone. Simply access http://www.gamesurvey.com. Participation is anonymous and results will be completely confidential. Other surveys will follow the initial Online Games survey.
